Papillon means butterfly. This shawl combines a careful curation of short rows with a self striping yarn to create a spectacular showpiece. The best part of this project is that it looks a lot harder to make than it actually is. The pattern by Marin Melchoir is written out very carefully, all you need to do is follow her short rows. New to short rows? They are easy! You'll be a pro by the end of this project.
Our shop sample is knit in a worsted weight yarn on size 8 needles. She measures a glorious 70" wingspan with a 40" depth. The perfect size to wrap around yourself.
We used 3 skeins of Uneek Worsted weight for the Main Color with 2 skeins of Tosh Vintage as the contrast. Your contrast color creates a border around the pockets of color created by the MC.
It is truly a magical project that you are sure to enjoy making just as much as you enjoy wearing.
Your Papillon kit includes 3 skeins of Uneek Worsted, 2 skeins of Tosh Vintage and a digital and printed copy of the pattern.
