Winter Survival KAL

Winter in the Northern hemisphere can wear on our souls.  How do we survive these months? By getting together and making something awesome! Yes, we all have sweaters, but aren't we growing tired of the same ones? We are approaching the end of the season, which is the perfect time to bang out a new sweater.   We are thrilled to introduce our first ever Winter Survival Knit-A-Long.   For our first project, we have chosen "Carbeth" by Kate Davies.

This versatile pattern is offered in both a cardigan or pullover version.   Carbeth has simple lines and is extremely easy to customize the length and fit.  Swift and straightforward, this is a perfect sweater for beginners. Knit from the bottom up, the body is knit in 1 piece to the armholes.  Sleeves are knit separately then joined to the body for the raglan decreasing.  Kate's brilliant adaptation of raglans is stunning. The pattern calls for size 10 needles - so we are assured to get this done! For more information on the pattern and more pictures for inspiration, check out Ravelry and Carbeth Cardi  **************************************** Let's talk yarn (our favorite thing to talk about).... Carbeth calls for 2 strands of Dk weight yarn held together. Can we recommend a few? Craggy Tweed from Farmer's Daughter Fibers Hedgehog Merino Dk MadTosh Dk Jasper from Primrose Don't want to double up on yarn - you can knit with a single strand of a light bulky. Quarry from Brooklyn Tweed

Chunky from Malabrigo

Puffin from Quince and Co.

would be perfect. Our first KAL meet up is Sunday, March 1 from 3-5.  Bring your Carbeth to share with our group. We will also be knitting together online - follow us in Instagram or Facebook to see everyone's progress.  Our goal is to complete this sweater by April fools Day!
