Girdwood is a top down, colorwork yoke sweater. Options are provided for a folded neckline (pictured), turtleneck or crew neck. The fit is designed to be oversized for maximum coziness. The pattern is named for the town in Alaska where Alyeska,a big ski resort is located. This design was inspired by the colors and views of the Alaskan winter landscape.
We opted for a solid body, contrasted with the colorwork yoke and cuffs.
We held a strand of our house yarn, Sea Suri, with Cashmerino from La Bien Aimee.
Sea Suri is 100% suri alpaca. It is super soft and light. Cashmerino is a fingering weight superwash merino with a hint of cashmere and nylon for strength. These two yarns marry to create a soft and fluffy fabric with tonality and variations in the colors.
