Once there's a chill in the air, I love an extra layer of warmth around my legs during the cooler months. Legwarmers do the trick! I wear them over leans and leggins, tuck them into my boots or throw them on over slippers when I'm cozy around the house. They also add a level or style to any outfit. It's like wearing a hand knit sweater for your legs.
This pattern is SUPER simple. Each legwarmer is worked flat in order to avoid the akward methods of working in the round on a small circumference. We are knitting little rectangles in easy knit and purl patterns then seaming them. Let your creativity soar as you customize the design. Choose from a K1, P1 or K2, P2 pattern for the ribbing. The body is worked in stockinette stitch. It is up to you to seam the purl or knit side out.
For this project we are using a pure lambswool from a family-owned fiber mill in Scotland. The wool is rustic and soft at the same time. What is lambswool? It is the first shearing of a sheep, considered high-grade of wool.
Each kit contains 1 skein of Le Gros Lambswool and the Customizable Leg Warmer pattern. You'll also need size 9 needles. Straight or circular will work.
