Two simple stitches - one easy cowl. Are you team garter or team stockinette?
As we head into the busy Summer months, I find myself reaching for super simple projects that don't require any thinking at all. I love a project that I can put down and pickup without skipping a beat. What could be easier than casting on, working in the round, then binding off. The only brain space required for this project is which stitch you prefer - garter or stockinette.
Garter, while rougher and bulkier, creates a bouncy and squishy fabric.
Stockinete, much slimmer and neater, creates more even stitches and highlights yarn characteristics.
For this month's project you get to choose which you prefer.
We are very excited to debut a brand new yarn, exclusively for our Knit Ahead Club.
Say hello to Moonjelly DK.
This 4 ply yarn is a luxurious blend of superwash merino and nylon, with a hint of stellina thread for sparkle. The sparkle is very subtle, just a pop of bling when the light hits it right.
Moonjelly DK is only available in the natural color, Shimmering Pearl, so we're combining it with a thin strand of mohair to add a soft halo of color.
Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is a luxurious blend of the finest Kid Mohair and Mulberry silk.
The more saturated colors of the mohair have more contrast between the yarns and create a marling effect.
Each kit contains 1 skein of Moonjelly Dk, 1 ball of Mohair So Soft and the cowl pattern. You'll also need size 7 & 9 24" circular needles.
